Role Summary

Senior applications engineer in the Worldwide Regional Applications group based in Bengaluru focused on FPGA usage in 5G (core, RAN, edge). Responsible for enabling customer designs on Agilex device families through performance optimization, security, virtualization, and DSP algorithm implementation and debugging.

The role works closely with R&D teams, internal application design teams, field teams, distributors and customers to resolve escalations, create reference designs, and deliver technical training and collateral.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 10 years of relevant experience in 5G, DSP, architecture, design, or implementation.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include customer enablement, design support, and cross-team collaboration.

• Manage key customer escalations from analysis through closure.
• Support field teams and distributors to improve customer designs and product outcomes.
• Contribute to development projects and generate collateral and reference designs.
• Develop and deliver training materials on features and methodologies.
• Collaborate across local, regional, and international teams to drive design enablement.
• Research and propose industry approaches, algorithms, and best practices for internal use.

Requirements

• Must-have: Deep knowledge of 5G architecture (core, RAN, edge) with experience in virtualization, performance optimization, and security for FPGA-based solutions.
• Must-have: DSP design, implementation, and debugging experience for FPGA applications.
• Must-have: Proficient programming skills in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB.
• Must-have: Strong working knowledge of RTL-based design flows and FPGA/ASIC design process and tool flows.
• Must-have: Understanding of transceiver architecture design methodologies and system-level problem solving.
• Must-have: Effective technical communication and ability to present complex trade-offs concisely to management and customers.
• Must-have: Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and time zones.
• Nice-to-have: Experience contributing to industry standards (for example IEEE) or driving standards activities.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics, Electrical, or Software Engineering is specified. The posting also requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in 5G and DSP.
