Job Title
Staff Analog Validation Engineer – with AI/ML
Role Summary
Join the Silicon Validation team to validate analog and mixed-signal IP for next-generation MCU products and to develop AI/ML solutions that accelerate characterization, failure analysis, and root-cause identification. The role combines hands-on silicon validation, lab bring-up, and data-driven analytics to improve product quality and reduce debug time.
Experience Level
Senior — 7+ years of experience in semiconductor analog validation, product engineering, or silicon debug.
Responsibilities
Perform silicon validation and build AI/ML capabilities to support validation and debug:
- Develop and execute validation plans for analog and mixed-signal IP in MCU/MPU products.
- Perform electrical characterization across voltage, temperature, process corners, and frequency ranges.
- Validate analog subsystems: PLLs/oscillators, ADCs/DACs, LDO/DC-DC regulators, PMUs, comparators, sensors, clocking/reset, and high-speed interfaces.
- Execute shmoo analysis, margin testing, stress testing, and reliability characterization; correlate silicon measurements to simulation and design expectations.
- Identify, debug, and root-cause silicon issues; work closely with design, test, and manufacturing teams to close issues.
- Develop AI/ML solutions for anomaly detection, automated failure clustering, root-cause prediction, outlier identification, and trend analysis across silicon generations.
- Apply predictive analytics to forecast silicon performance variations and identify manufacturing/process-related anomalies.
- Build and maintain dashboards, automation, and tooling to accelerate validation and debugging workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in analog semiconductor validation, product engineering, or silicon debug.
- Hands-on experience with MCU architectures and embedded systems.
- Lab bring-up and silicon debug tools experience (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Proven experience in electrical characterization and validating analog subsystems and power management blocks.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML to characterization or test data (anomaly detection, clustering, predictive models).
- Data analysis and scripting skills for automation and analytics (e.g., Python or similar) and experience building dashboards or analytics tools.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis skills, and ability to collaborate across design, test, and manufacturing teams.
- Experience with test automation and validation infrastructure is desirable.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
