Job Title

Staff Analog & Mixed-Signal Design Engineer - Power/ATE

Role Summary

Design, simulate, characterize and release high-performance mixed-signal and power-delivery integrated circuits used in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).

Work on a cross-functional ATE design team to develop production test solutions for advanced computation ICs and provide technical leadership to deliver products to production.

Experience Level

Senior level; typically requires 7+ years of CMOS IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecture, design, verification, and production transition:

  • Lead architectural definition and design of complex mixed-signal ICs from concept through production release.
  • Optimize designs for power, performance, and area while meeting quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with digital design and verification teams on block and chip-level integration and verification.
  • Coordinate with product, applications, and test engineering to define requirements and oversee product transition to production.
  • Perform laboratory characterization and resolve complex IC issues.
  • Manage layout coordination and post-layout simulations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 7+ years of CMOS IC design experience focused on mixed-signal and power circuits.
  • Practical experience with high-gain/low-noise amplifiers, switching regulators, comparators, integrators, voltage references, LDOs, ADCs, and DACs.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience characterizing and debugging integrated circuits.
  • Experience managing layout and performing post-layout simulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and effective cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Switching regulator circuit design and precision analog design background.
  • Experience with BiCMOS analog design.
  • Proficiency in Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or similar modeling tools and analog/digital behavioral modeling.
  • Team and project leadership experience.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (specified in source).
