Job Title

Staff Analog IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior analog power design role on Qorvo's Power Management division focused on PMICs, power loss protection, motor control and battery management. The engineer will develop transistor-level power-management ICs, validate silicon performance, and coordinate across system, layout, test and global design teams to deliver production-ready devices.

Experience Level

Senior — requires substantial industry experience. The posting specifies 8+ years of engineering experience and at least 6 years in analog/mixed-signal IC design, with emphasis on DC-DC power converter architectures.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include architecture, circuit design, validation, and cross-discipline collaboration to bring power-management ICs to production.

  • Lead design and development of high-performance analog power-management ICs targeting efficiency, power density and reliability.
  • Define product architecture and specifications with system engineers, balancing performance, power and cost.
  • Select and implement circuit topologies that meet robustness, yield and manufacturability targets.
  • Perform transistor-level design, simulation and validation to meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to optimize floorplan, parasitics and silicon performance.
  • Work with global design teams to align development strategy and execution.
  • Partner with test and characterization engineers to define validation methods, troubleshoot issues, and optimize production test strategies.
  • Drive technical reviews and produce design documentation showing analysis and trade-offs.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience are listed first; preferred items follow.

  • Must-have: 8+ years of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Must-have: 6+ years hands-on experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, particularly DC-DC power converter architectures and control methods.
  • Must-have: Experience with EDA tools for parasitic extraction and EMIR analysis.
  • Must-have: Experience with production release of power-management ICs and working with layout and test teams.
  • Must-have: Effective verbal and written communication of technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must-have: Hands-on lab experience with high-frequency switching power supplies.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Simplis, ADS.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in power loss protection, motor control, or battery-management ICs.

Education Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
