Sr. Memory Architect
Role Summary
Lead development of novel volatile and non-volatile memory modules in advanced process nodes. The role owns architecture exploration through block-level design, layout, module assembly, verification and characterization.
Work closely with product marketing and customers to define memory architectures that meet product requirements and implement them using state-of-the-art EDA tools.
Experience Level
Senior — requires at least 10 years of semiconductor memory design experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include hands-on design leadership, architecture decisions and cross-functional coordination.
- Lead architecture exploration and select memory topologies to meet performance, area and power targets.
- Drive block-level analog/digital memory circuit design and layout.
- Manage module assembly, verification flows and silicon characterization.
- Optimize timing, power and leakage; define DFT strategies for memory blocks.
- Collaborate with product marketing and customers to convert requirements into architectural trade-offs.
- Use EDA tools and simulation flows to validate designs and characterize timing/power across corners.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience for the role.
- Deep knowledge of memory circuit design, analog design principles, timing and power optimization, and Design for Test (DFT).
- Proven experience in memory timing and power characterization and silicon bring-up.
- Expertise in low-power, low-voltage and low-leakage design techniques.
- Experience with advanced process technologies (e.g., FDSOI, FinFET) and scaling challenges.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso schematic design, SPICE/fast-SPICE and mixed-signal simulators; parasitic extraction and modeling tools.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with memory compilers and high-sigma analysis tools.
- Prior leadership of multi-block memory module integration projects.
