Job Title
Staff Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver analog blocks and mixed-signal systems for CMOS integrated circuits, from specification through transistor-level design, simulation, silicon characterization and production support. Work as part of a cross-functional team interfacing with digital, firmware, layout, verification, test and product engineers.
Experience Level
Senior β the posting specifies a minimum of 3+ years' experience in analog CMOS IC design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities span design, verification, lab characterization and cross-team support.
- Analog block and system design: specification, high-level analysis, transistor-level design, simulation, optimization, and production support (40%).
- Design optimization, verification, technical documentation and layout supervision (20%).
- Silicon lab evaluation, characterization and debug (10%).
- Block and system modelling including behavioral models (10%).
- Provide technical support to test, product and application engineering teams (10%).
- Interface and collaborate with digital, firmware, verification, layout and other cross-functional teams (10%).
Requirements
Key must-have skills and relevant experience, followed by desirable skills.
Must-have:
- 3+ years' experience in analog CMOS integrated circuit design.
- Proven experience designing transistor-level CMOS analog blocks and systems (examples: ADCs, DACs, sensor interfaces, switched-capacitor circuits, power management, LDOs, bandgap, biasing, amplifiers, oscillators, PLLs, comparators, filters, physical I/Os).
- Strong understanding of analog trade-offs and concepts: speed, power, noise, mismatch, linearity, stability, and area.
- Mastery of IC design CAD tools, including schematic entry and SPICE / mixed-mode simulation tools.
- Experience using laboratory instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters) and measurement methods for silicon characterization.
- Independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a team; strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- System-level knowledge: signal processing, digital integration, modeling, test and application considerations.
- Experience with mixed-signal circuits, high-resolution and low-power analog design techniques.
- Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/AFS, Siemens Symphony, MATLAB, and hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL).
- Experience developing and verifying analog/mixed-signal behavioral models.
- Experience in consumer or ITA market circuit developments.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering or higher.
