Job Title

Staff Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior analog IC design engineer in Central Engineering responsible for architecture, implementation, and verification of analog and mixed-signal IP used across storage, networking, cloud and AI products. Work on high-performance serial links, transceivers/SERDES, and related analog blocks as part of a small cross-functional team.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience guidance: 10–15 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 5–10 years with a Master’s or PhD.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on circuit architecture, design and verification to meet performance targets for high-speed and low-power analog blocks.

  • Lead architectural investigations and implement circuits such as PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, CTLE, regulators, amplifiers, TX/RX, CDRs, and related mixed-signal blocks.
  • Perform design verification and performance analysis using industry-standard simulation tools (SPICE, Spectre, MATLAB, Hsim, etc.).
  • Collaborate with system architects and global circuit and physical design teams to deliver serial links and transceiver solutions for datacenter/AI connectivity.
  • Define specifications and tradeoffs to meet high-speed and low-power targets and ensure successful handoff to downstream teams.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and preferred experience.

  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS technologies.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, RX/TX, PLLs, filters, bandgap bias circuits, regulators, amplifiers, CDRs, CTLE).
  • Must-have: Experience with low-power and high-speed design techniques.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with IC design and simulation tools such as Spectre, SPICE, MATLAB, Hsim and familiarity with Verilog for mixed-signal flows.
  • Must-have: Experience with design verification, performance optimization, and delivering transceiver/SERDES products.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience targeting datacenter or AI connectivity applications.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with ~10–15 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with ~5–10 years of relevant experience. (Related technical degrees accepted.)
