Staff Analog Design Automation Engineer

Role Summary

Lead a team that defines, architects, specifies, and implements next-generation mixed-signal IC design flows and automation tools for analog and mixed-signal product development within ADI's Engineering Enablement organization.

Collaborate with product development teams to deliver practical automation solutions that integrate external CAE tools and internal capabilities, including AI-assisted methods.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 7–10 years of relevant analog/mixed-signal IC design and design-automation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead and mentor engineers to design and deliver mixed-signal design automation flows and tools.
  • Collaborate with analog/mixed-signal IC design teams and enablement groups to define requirements and deploy design flows.
  • Architect and implement design process migration tools and automation methods leveraging AI.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of external CAE tools and internal design-automation capabilities; integrate them into product flows.
  • Ensure design flows coexist with other product development methodologies and support cross-team interoperability.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 7–10 years experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design and use or development of design tools.
  • Strong familiarity with circuits such as wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision references, and LDOs.
  • Experience with analog circuit design and simulation in FinFET and/or power process technologies.
  • Experience with Cadence and/or Synopsys design creation and simulation tools.
  • Proficient programming skills (scripts/tools development for automation).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and communicate effectively in a large, distributed organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Education Requirements

M.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering (Master's or Ph.D.).
