STA Engineer, Associate
Role Summary
This is an entry-level hardware engineering role in the Hardware Engineering team. The engineer will assist with planning, verification, testing, and bring-up of electronic systems and hardware features for semiconductor products.
The position supports integration of functionality into hardware designs, runs simulations and analyses to meet power/performance/area targets, and collaborates with cross-functional teams on manufacturing and reliability evaluations.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Associate. Works under supervision; suitable for candidates early in their career.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in planning, verification, and testing of electronic systems, circuits, mechanical subsystems, digital/analog/RF/optical blocks, FPGA/DSP systems, and test equipment.
- Support integration of features and functionality into hardware designs according to proposals and roadmaps.
- Conduct simulations and analyses and help implement designs with attention to power, performance, and area.
- Collaborate with team members to implement new requirements and adopt test solutions.
- Support evaluation, characterization, and development of manufacturing solutions for advanced process products.
- Assist in reliability evaluation for materials and techniques and contribute to automation and optimization to improve productivity.
- Assess basic design features to identify potential flaws, compatibility, and compliance issues.
- Prepare technical documentation for hardware projects.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Fundamental knowledge of electronic hardware, circuits, and test/bring-up processes.
- Familiarity with verification, testing, simulation, and characterization workflows.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills to convey routine technical information.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow established procedures and documentation.
- Willingness to learn manufacturing evaluation, reliability assessment, and automation techniques.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
