Role Summary

Join the STA team within ASM Auto to support timing analysis and closure for automotive microcontroller (MCU) cores on a next-generation automotive MCU platform. The role focuses on block- and chip-level static timing analysis to meet real-time control and zonal networking requirements for vehicle applications.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requests 3+ years of experience in STA roles.

Responsibilities

Perform static timing analysis and drive timing closure across block and chip levels; collaborate with layout, physical design and DFT teams to implement fixes and ECOs.

• Conduct STA for MCU cores and merge functional/test-mode constraints.
• Develop and maintain timing constraints at block and chip level.
• Plan, set up and manage STA runs (including chip-level runs) and timing signoff flows.
• Analyze timing reports, identify violations, propose fixes and coordinate timing ECOs with physical design (PD) teams.
• Derive IO and protocol interface constraints from chip specifications and perform IO STA.
• Create/validate ILM and timing models for blocks used in top-level analysis.
• Perform crosstalk and corner/margin analysis as required for signoff.
• Work with DFT teams to understand test architecture and derive test-mode constraints.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

• Must-have: 3+ years of experience in STA roles focused on timing analysis and closure.
• Must-have: Experience developing constraints for block-level designs and integrating constraints at chip level.
• Must-have: Practical experience planning and running STA flows and interpreting timing reports to drive ECOs.
• Must-have: Working knowledge of timing signoff tools such as PrimeTime or Tempus.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with ILM/timing model generation, crosstalk analysis, and chip-level STA.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: Prior collaboration with DFT and PD teams to derive test-mode constraints and implement fixes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required (as stated in the posting).
