SSP - CIC Mixed-Signal Simulation QA Internship

Role Summary

Summer internship (July–August 2026) as a QA Engineer on the CIC Mixed-Signal Simulation team working on the Symphony mixed-signal simulator. The role is hybrid in Cairo and is mentor-led, focused on test planning, test-case creation, execution, automation, and product integration work within an Agile development process.

Entry-level internship suitable for students; no prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the intern project work include:

  • Contribute to maintaining and improving product quality for the Siemens EDA Symphony mixed-signal simulator.
  • Define test and quality plans in collaboration with development and product teams.
  • Create and run test cases covering multiple design languages (SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL, Verilog-AMS, VHDL-AMS, Verilog-A, SPICE, etc.).
  • Execute tests, analyze results, diagnose issues, report defects to development teams, and recommend fixes.
  • Validate products against quality attributes (FURPS) and participate in integration testing, including AI-integration scenarios.
  • Work with development teams to shorten development and validation cycle time within Agile practices.
  • Help develop and improve test automation and validation infrastructure.

Requirements

Core skills and attributes expected from candidates; items marked as "Nice-to-have" are preferred but not mandatory.

  • Must-have: Strong programming and software testing skills, with emphasis on Python.
  • Must-have: Good knowledge and practice of VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Must-have: Understanding of digital/mixed-signal verification methodologies.
  • Must-have: Fluent English and solid written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and in a team.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with VHDL-AMS/Verilog-AMS and commercial digital/Spice/co-simulation tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with UVM, QA methodologies, version control, defect management, and test coverage tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Interest or experience in test automation and CI practices.

Education Requirements

3rd or 4th year student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related technical field).
