Role Summary
Responsible for system-level validation of enterprise SSD solutions across server platforms. The role defines validation strategies, leads cross-layer debugging and root-cause analysis, and drives issue resolution across firmware, platform, and customer environments.
Works with global cross-functional teams, leads validation projects, mentors junior engineers, and improves validation methods, automation, and tooling.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3β5+ years of professional experience in SSD validation, storage system validation, or a closely related field.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing system validation, debugging complex interactions, and coordinating issue resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and manage system-level validation (functional, stress, endurance, power cycle, compliance) for enterprise SSDs on server platforms.
- Define validation strategy, coverage, and risk assessment for assigned features, platforms, or customer programs.
- Perform detailed debugging and root-cause analysis across SSD firmware, PCIe/NVMe protocol, host platform, BIOS, drivers, and OS.
- Coordinate issue resolution across firmware, platform engineering, product development, and customer teams.
- Lead customer Joint Qualification activities: reproduce issues, triage, analyze data, and coordinate across sites.
- Analyze logs, traces, and dumps from firmware, OS, protocol layers, and validation tools to identify root causes.
- Develop and improve Python-based validation frameworks, automation, and log-analysis tools.
- Maintain and improve validation coverage; identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead or contribute to technical initiatives to enhance validation methodology, debug frameworks, and tooling.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers and help build team capability and technical excellence.
