SSD Customer Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Work on validation and characterization of enterprise SSDs by developing test automation, cross-platform APIs, and integrations with test equipment. The role partners with firmware, hardware, and software teams to design robust tests that reproduce and triage failures before they reach customers.

Responsibilities

Deliver test automation, API integrations, and validation workflows for enterprise SSD products.

  • Design and implement cross-platform APIs for SSD validation and characterization.
  • Develop and integrate new test equipment/tool APIs into automation frameworks.
  • Define, plan, and execute test automation strategies and contribute to in-house frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create test designs for new features and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot SSD and software integration issues; reproduce failures and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve test scalability and efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation of test methods, workflows, and results for traceability.

  • Must-have: Strong object-oriented programming skills; Python preferred.
  • Must-have: Ability to analyze complex problems, perform root-cause diagnosis, and apply corrective actions.
  • Must-have: Ability to communicate technical designs clearly (UML or equivalent documentation).
  • Must-have: Experience with Agile product development and project-management practices.
  • Must-have: Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and teamwork across sites and time zones.
  • Nice-to-have: Working experience with Windows or Linux stacks, kernels, and device drivers.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on knowledge of OS APIs (process control, memory management) and device-driver interactions.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with system storage architecture and interactions with CPU, memory, PCIe, drivers, OS, and firmware.
  • Nice-to-have: Flexibility and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
