Job Title
Senior Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Bench-validation and silicon-debug lead for Power Management ICs (PMICs) responsible for end-to-end validation, test automation, equipment definition and lab setup. The role includes ownership of validation deliverables and technical leadership of a small team while coordinating with design and systems teams across geographies.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of experience in bench validation and debug of Power Management ICs (PMICs).
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include ownership of validation activities, automation, reporting and cross-team coordination:
- Own bench validation and silicon debug for PMICs, drive ATE-bench correlation and report findings to systems and design teams.
- Develop and automate industry-standard tests for switching converters and evaluation boards.
- Define test-equipment requirements, set up labs from scratch, and resolve equipment/setup issues.
- Implement test automation and software for benches (Python, C, LabVIEW) and debug ATE programs.
- Use FPGAs to emulate digital/system behavior and validate digital interfaces.
- Maximize bench and equipment utilization through standardization, reuse and automation to reduce test cost.
- Technically lead and mentor junior engineers, manage schedules, identify execution risks, and ensure high-quality deliverables (waveforms, reports, documentation).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on bench validation and debug of mixed-signal ICs, with strong PMIC experience.
- Proven experience with validation equipment: power supplies, load slammer, oscilloscopes, probes, multimeters, analog switches, relays, and board communications.
- Proficiency writing and debugging test programs in Python, C, and LabVIEW; experience debugging ATE programs.
- Experience using FPGAs for testing/emulation and driving ATE-bench correlation activities independently.
- Familiarity with power-chip communication protocols such as SPMI, PMBUS, SVI3, SVID and I2C.
- Ability to create basic circuits on breadboards and design simple PCBs for experimentation.
- Strong debugging, data analysis, documentation, cross-cultural communication and time-zone coordination skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
