Job Title
Sr. Technology Development Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and qualify power IC devices and fabrication processes, focusing on analog and high-voltage semiconductor technologies. Collaborate with foundry, design, mask, CAD, and product engineering teams to define device capabilities, design rules, process experiments, and yield improvements.
Experience Level
Senior. Guidance from the posting: Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D.; role requires senior-level technical ownership of device and process development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include device/process development, cross-functional coordination, and verification activities.
- Develop processes and devices for DMOS, Bipolar, CMOS, and high-voltage technologies.
- Work with internal Foundry Group and external fabrication foundries on development and qualification of devices and process changes.
- Define design rules for analog process technologies and verify rules against DRCs with the CAD group.
- Collaborate with Design, Mask Design, and Mask Shop on device layout and mask/reticle tooling requirements.
- Consult with Product Engineering and Foundry Group on yield and manufacturing issues.
- Perform device design to meet electrical specs, process/device simulation, CAD-based test structure layout, and wafer-level electrical measurements.
- Plan and execute process experiments and interpret electrical measurement results.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or preferred.
-
Must-have: Proven experience in analog semiconductor process and device development with DMOS, Bipolar, CMOS, and high-voltage devices.
-
Must-have: Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics, process and device simulation, and SPICE model extraction.
-
Must-have: Experience defining design rules and verifying DRCs in collaboration with CAD teams.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with graphics/layout software, mask-making requirements, and mask/reticle tooling.
-
Must-have: Experience interfacing with foundries and cross-functional engineering teams; experience with wafer-level electrical testing and yield analysis.
-
Nice-to-have: Direct experience in test-structure layout using CAD tools and leading process experiments.
Education Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). The posting specifies either a Master’s with 3+ years of relevant experience or a Ph.D. in analog process and device development; equivalent practical experience accepted per employer language.
