- Develop manufacturing test strategies and define test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software requirements.
- Design scalable board- and system-level hardware test solutions, methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Review early product designs and provide Design for Testability (DFT) recommendations.
- Create test content, diagnostic tools, and automation using Python and other scripting languages.
- Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.
- Debug complex hardware, software, device, and manufacturing issues during build and production phases.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners to improve yield, reduce cost, and increase test efficiency.
- Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing test technologies and tools.
- Lead resolution of novel/non-recurring technical problems and mentor junior engineers.
- Maintain effective working relationships across geographically distributed engineering and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, practical experience, and work eligibility notes.
- Proven experience developing and supporting manufacturing test programs for board- or system-level products in production environments.
- Strong data center system-level test, hardware validation, and debug experience across hardware, software, device, and manufacturing domains.
- Proficiency with Python and shell scripting (Bash); experience with test automation and diagnostic tooling.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments.
- Familiarity with IPMI, PCIe, BMC, and thermal solutions.
- Experience with test pattern/vector development, timing, and diagnostic generation for manufacturing tests.
- Experience working with manufacturing partners to drive yield, quality, cost, and test-efficiency improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical problem resolution and mentor junior engineers; effective communicator across distributed teams.
- Ability to work onsite at a manufacturing site.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with additional scripting languages (Perl, Ruby) and programming languages (C, C++, C#, Java).
- Familiarity with version-control systems (Git, SVN, CVS) and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); Scrum Master or Product Owner experience is a plus.
