Job Title

Senior System Level Test Engineer

Role Summary

Work on early silicon bring-up, post-silicon validation, and system-level testing of Qualcomm SoCs across mobile, compute, automotive, server and IoT domains. The role combines hardware testing, software integration, test automation and collaboration with design and development teams to verify performance, stability and production screening at various operating conditions.

Experience Level

Senior. Minimum-qualification guidance: Bachelor's + 2+ years hardware engineering experience, Master's + 1+ year, or PhD. The posting also references 0–3 years of system or bench-level testing experience in related industries.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include silicon bring-up, validation, and creating automated test content and production screens.

  • Perform early-stage silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation with engineering teams.
  • Test and characterize hardware together with system software under varied voltage, temperature, and process conditions.
  • Develop automated test content that stresses SoCs for functional, performance, stability and benchmark evaluation.
  • Create and execute test plans and sequencers for processors, graphics, memory, thermal, and power performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams and project leads to design effective production-level screens for system issues.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret and summarize test data; support debugging and triage.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have:

  • Experience with SoC-level or embedded systems testing and system/bench-level test execution.
  • Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
  • Ability to develop and execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal and power behavior.
  • Experience creating test plans and using test sequencers; familiarity with reading specifications.
  • Programming experience in one or more languages: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
  • Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).
  • Ability to collect, analyze and summarize test data effectively.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach/Trace32.
  • Understanding of Android system architecture and boot process.
  • Familiarity with system-level benchmarks (e.g., Dhrystone).
  • Relevant projects or internships in silicon validation, embedded systems, or hardware bring-up.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of hardware engineering or related experience. Or: Master's degree in those fields plus 1+ year of related experience. Or: PhD in those fields (years not specified). Posting also notes required: Bachelor's (Electrical Engineering) and preferred: Master's in Electrical or Computer Science/Engineering.
