Job Title
Sr. Staff Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification efforts for digital and mixed-signal IP blocks, subsystems, and full integrated circuits. Develop verification plans, create SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, drive coverage closure, and coordinate closely with design, analog, firmware, and system teams.
Work with remote verification and design teams, mentor junior engineers, and support silicon lab evaluations and cross-functional verification activities.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 8+ years of industry experience in integrated circuit design verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification planning, implementation, and delivery for block- and chip-level projects.
- Define, develop, and maintain verification plans, coverage models, and test strategies for IP blocks, subsystems, and full chips (functional, code, assertion coverage).
- Design and implement complex SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches; develop directed tests, constrained-random environments, scoreboards, monitors, and checkers.
- Perform RTL, gate-level, and AMS verification; debug simulation failures and identify root causes in design or verification environments.
- Improve verification scalability and portability through environment enhancement and automation; manage CI and regression frameworks.
- Report to remote verification and design teams and mentor junior verification engineers.
- Interface with system, digital hardware, embedded firmware, analog, and cross-functional teams to resolve integration and verification issues.
- Evaluate and drive adoption of advanced verification methodologies and tools; provide technical support for silicon lab evaluation and product teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 8+ years of industry experience in integrated circuit design verification.
- In-depth experience in digital IC verification for mixed-signal ICs and MCU-based hardware systems (ARM, RISC-V, PIC, STM32) including memories, custom micro-architecture, peripherals, and external IPs.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM; strong knowledge of Verilog and VHDL.
- Experience with scripting (Python, Perl) and industry EDA verification tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens).
- Experience with standard hardware protocols: I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI.
- Strong analytical, synthesis, debugging, and problem-solving skills; demonstrated technical leadership and excellent communication.
Nice-to-have
- System-level knowledge: signal processing, mixed-signal modeling, embedded firmware, and test/application considerations.
- Experience with analog behavioral modeling (SV RNM / Verilog / VHDL) and consumer or ITA market circuit development.
Education Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
