Job Title
Sr Staff Test Engineer - ATE
Role Summary
Lead ATE test development for Power/Analog products from characterization through volume production. Work on test strategy, test program and hardware development, silicon qualification, yield improvement, and failure analysis within a cross-functional product team.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 10+ years of test engineering experience (wafer sort and final test) working on PMIC, temperature sensors and I3C-capable products.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include development, validation and production support of ATE test solutions for Power/Analog ICs.
- Collaborate with design and systems teams to interpret device specifications for test.
- Create test plans and develop characterization and production test programs.
- Design ATE hardware interface boards and ATE test hardware.
- Debug and characterize silicon on ATE and correlate results with bench measurements.
- Analyze silicon results, support failure analysis, and perform device debugging and validation.
- Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout; debug and resolve yield issues and optimize test time.
- Work with production teams to release products to volume production and support manufacturing.
- Define and implement test strategy for new Power/Analog products, balancing robustness and cost.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills required for immediate contribution.
- 10+ years developing hardware and software for Wafer Sort and Final Test on PMIC, temperature sensors, and I3C products.
- Hands-on experience with analog ATE platforms such as mFLEX, Advantest 93K, SPEA, Cohu DiamondX, Teradyne Eagle or equivalents (iFlex, LTX, VLCT).
- Experience with I2C, I3C, SPI protocols and trim implementations for power ICs.
- Characterization and production test program and hardware development experience.
- Strong knowledge of electronic devices, analog circuits, and analog test techniques.
- Data analysis experience using Spotfire, dataPower or equivalent STDF-based tools.
- Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, sourcemeters, electronic loads) and product engineering activities (yield improvement, test time reduction).
- Solid understanding of the IC product development lifecycle from concept to volume production.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Test lead experience and experience offloading test program/hardware to OSATs.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or C#; LabVIEW and TestStand experience.
- Familiarity with revision control tools such as Subversion or Git.
- Prior Cohu platform experience noted as a differentiator.
- Strong analytical, communication, time-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
