Sr. Staff Silicon Development Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Radeon Technologies Group front-end design/integration team responsible for implementing and verifying design-for-test (DFT) features and supporting silicon bring-up and yield learning. Work closely with architecture, IP design, physical design, and product engineering to achieve first-pass silicon success.

Position is based in San Jose, CA with a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on DFT implementation, ATPG, verification, and post-silicon support.

  • Implement and verify DFT architecture and features.
  • Perform scan insertion and ATPG pattern generation.
  • Verify ATPG patterns using gate-level simulation.
  • Analyze test coverage and test cost; recommend reductions.
  • Provide post-silicon support for bring-up and yield improvement.
  • Collaborate with architecture, IP, physical design, and product teams to ensure silicon success.

Requirements

Core technical skills and behaviors required for the role.

  • Experience with DFT implementation and verification (scan insertion, ATPG, gate-level simulation, test coverage analysis).
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools and scripting (e.g., VCS; Perl or shell scripting).
  • Practical experience with Verilog RTL and silicon bring-up/debug.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Post-silicon debug and yield analysis experience.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Mentor testkompress and/or Synopsys Tetramax/DFTMAX.
  • Familiarity with IEEE1500, JTAG 1149.x, and memory BIST.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is specified.
