Senior Staff R&D Engineer, Electromagnetics
Role Summary
Lead development of electromagnetic extraction and simulation flows for high-speed SERDES and 3DIC designs. Work within the design enablement and methodology team to define, implement, and deploy EM extraction and simulation methodologies that ensure signal integrity and performance from 10 Gbps to 500 Gbps.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of relevant experience, including CMOS, FinFET, and GAA technologies.
Responsibilities
Key duties include designing flows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring effective deployment of solutions.
- Define and develop electromagnetic extraction and simulation flows for 3DIC and SERDES products (10 Gbps–500 Gbps).
- Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams to resolve electromagnetic issues.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the design and methodology team.
- Use and extend tools such as Helic, HFSS, and ADS for extraction and verification.
- Analyze root causes of EM problems and propose pragmatic, deployable solutions.
- Ensure solutions integrate with other domain workflows and simulation toolchains.
Requirements

- Proficiency with electromagnetic tools: Helic, HFSS, and ADS.
- 10+ years experience with CMOS, FinFET, and GAA process technologies.
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and its application to high-speed design.
- Proven ability to develop and implement EM extraction and simulation methodologies for advanced packages and 3DICs.
- Experience with RF SPICE simulations and configuring simulation settings that consume EM extraction models.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed engineering teams.
