Sr Staff Project/Program Design - MCU
Role Summary
The Sr Staff Embedded MCU Program Manager drives end-to-end execution of MCU product programs from concept through development, validation, qualification, and release.
Works across architecture, design, firmware, systems, validation, and product engineering teams to deliver MCU products aligned with customer and market requirements.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of experience in semiconductor, MCU, or embedded systems product development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include program leadership, embedded product development, India-market alignment, cross-functional coordination, and risk/launch readiness.
- Lead end-to-end program execution: schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and cross-functional alignment.
- Manage silicon bring-up, firmware integration, validation, and product qualification activities.
- Track deliverables such as design progress, firmware readiness, validation status, and sample availability.
- Translate India market requirements into program plans and support reference designs and customer evaluations.
- Coordinate technical reviews and ensure readiness for gate reviews and product launch.
- Partner with architecture, design, firmware, systems, validation, applications, product engineering, and operations teams.
- Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, validation, and execution risks; lead launch readiness checks.
Requirements
Must-have technical and program management skills for MCU/embedded product development.
- 10+ years in semiconductor, MCU, or embedded systems product development.
- Strong understanding of MCU product lifecycle: architecture, design, firmware, validation, and release.
- Proven experience leading complex cross-functional MCU/SoC programs.
- Deep knowledge of embedded hardware–software interaction, firmware integration, and system validation.
- Experience working with firmware, systems, applications, or validation teams.
- In-depth understanding of new product introduction and product development flow from concept to production.
- Exposure to automotive processes such as AECQ, IATF, ISO26262, and APQP.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools: MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Confluence, OneNote.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with MCU product lines for automotive, industrial, or IoT applications.
- Familiarity with firmware SDKs, RTOS, drivers, and embedded development ecosystems.
- Experience with silicon bring-up, validation, qualification, and product release.
- Experience in customer-facing or application engineering roles.
Education Requirements
No degree or specific field-of-study is required or specified. PMP certification is noted as a plus; no mandatory academic credentials or "equivalent experience" language is provided.
