Sr Staff Physical Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead backend physical design for MCU/MPU products in consumer, industrial and IoT markets. Work with a global engineering team to drive layout (PnR) and layout verification efforts, using modern EDA and AI-assisted techniques to improve product quality, performance, and cost.

Senior-level.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities cover layout implementation and verification for MCUs/MPUs.

• Perform placement-and-routing (PnR), floorplanning and hierarchical layout design using ICC2, FusionCompiler-BE, or Innovus.
• Design power networks and perform analog routing as part of layout implementation.
• Execute layout verification and signoff checks using Calibre, Pegasus and Voltus.
• Lead backend development activities to improve quality, performance and cost competitiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams (Japan, China, Germany, Vietnam, India).
• Integrate advanced EDA and AI-assisted methods to accelerate design cycles.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience.

• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in layout design and layout verification for LSI/MCU/MPU.
• Practical experience with PnR and PV flows and signoff processes.
• Experience leading backend design efforts and working in a global engineering environment.
• Nice-to-have: experience with EDA toolchains from Cadence, Synopsys or Siemens (examples: ICC2, FusionCompiler, Innovus, Calibre, Pegasus, Voltus).
