Sr. Staff Optical Test Engineer

Role Summary

Senior staff-level test engineer on the product engineering team supporting advanced Server & Network Processor products. Works cross-functionally with test, hardware, design and firmware teams to design, develop, characterize and qualify test solutions for silicon and packages.

Primary mission: improve yield and test quality by developing test methodology, optimizing production test flows, and leading new-product and package/fab qualification efforts.

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 4+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with design, process, DFM/DFT and test teams to define and implement test strategies.
  • Debug and characterize new product performance for digital, analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Analyze volume data and perform lab experiments to solve yield and test failures on the production floor.
  • Lead optimization of production test screen specifications to meet yield, quality, test-time and DPPM targets.
  • Support RMA testing and customer escalations to identify coverage gaps and corrective actions.
  • Define yield and manufacturing specs for wafer sort, final test and SLT insertions.
  • Drive test flow optimization, test-time reduction and removal of unnecessary insertions.
  • Lead new-product qualification and new package/fab qualification prior to volume production.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years in semiconductor test engineering.
  • Strong experience with ATE testing and test methodology; high-speed digital testing experience required.
  • Experience with Agilent 83K or 93K testers.
  • Knowledge of silicon process, DFT/DFM and test development for production environments.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, effective communication, teamwork, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sense of urgency, attention to detail, and accountability.
  • May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to export license review.

Nice-to-have:

  • Product development and mixed-signal testing experience.
