Sr. Staff NPI Product Engineer
Role Summary
Senior engineer on the New Product Introduction (NPI) Product Engineering team supporting new product development from concept through production transfer. The role works with cross-functional teams to define DfT/DfM requirements, support ATE and bench test correlation, perform characterization and yield analysis, and enable transfer to high-volume manufacturing.
Focus areas include high-performance optical and analog/mixed-signal IC products in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies, with an emphasis on testability, quality, and production readiness.

Senior — typically requires 8+ years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or design engineering.
Responsibilities
Support NPI programs across the full product lifecycle and collaborate with design, test, validation, quality, and operations to ensure products meet specifications and transfer smoothly to manufacturing.
- Support NPI activities from product concept through final release and transfer to full-volume manufacturing; prepare release deliverables and manufacturing documentation.
- Define and support implementation of Design for Testability (DfT) and Design for Manufacturability (DfM) requirements; assist test engineering on ATE program development and optimization.
- Execute and support wafer-level and bench characterization plans; perform ATE-to-bench correlation and PVT data analysis.
- Contribute to yield modeling, design of experiments (DOE), test-time reduction, and identification/implementation of yield improvement actions.
- Support validation and reliability qualification activities and review of test coverage, limits, and guard banding.
- Assist in failure analysis and root-cause investigations; collaborate with foundry and packaging teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or design engineering.
- Basic familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, JMP) for interpreting characterization and yield data.
- Foundational knowledge of semiconductor physics and analog/mixed-signal IC design principles.
- Exposure to DFM, DFT, and ATE test methodologies and interest in test program implementation and optimization.
- Familiarity with high-speed digital ATE platforms (e.g. Advantest, Teradyne) or bench test equipment is a plus.
- Awareness of semiconductor qualification and reliability testing processes (JEDEC, HTOL, ESD, latch-up) is a plus.
- Experience or interest in yield analysis, DOE, and continuous improvement methods; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and operations teams; willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field required; MS is a plus. Internship or co-op experience in relevant semiconductor/test fields is considered.
