Job Title

Sr Staff MCU and Digital Power Application Engineer

Role Summary

Customer-facing application engineer specializing in MCU-based systems that integrate digital power and power-management products. The role supports customers and internal teams with board bring-up, firmware development, system-level debugging, and digital-power control design.

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 8+ years of professional industry experience in embedded systems and digital power applications.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership to enable customer designs combining MCUs and digital power components.

  • Provide expert technical support for MCU and digital power products (PMICs, digital controllers, power SoCs).
  • Perform board bring-up, peripheral configuration, and system-level debugging.
  • Assist customers with DC‑DC converters, PMICs, and MCU-based power control solutions.
  • Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ (bare-metal or RTOS).
  • Create proofs-of-concept, reference designs, and technical collateral combining MCU and power solutions.
  • Design and tune digital control loops (voltage, current, multi‑phase systems); implement control compensation.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to control stability, efficiency, EMI/EMC, transient response, and thermal performance.
  • Collaborate with FAEs, marketing, and BU engineering to support design‑ins and customer escalations.
  • Deliver technical trainings, workshops, and customer presentations on digital power solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role; preferred items noted separately.

  • Must-have: 8+ years professional experience in embedded systems and digital power applications.
  • Hands-on experience with digital power or power-management systems and power-system debugging (efficiency, transient response, thermal, EMI/EMC).
  • Strong understanding of digital control theory for power electronics and control-loop compensation (PID/digital compensators).
  • Familiarity with ADCs, PWMs, comparators, timers, and related MCU peripherals.
  • Experience developing embedded MCU firmware in C (C/C++); bare-metal or RTOS environments.
  • Working proficiency in English and fluent Chinese; proactive and results-oriented.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with UART/SPI/I2C/CAN/Ethernet, developing reference boards or evaluation kits, and prior AE/FAE or customer-facing engineering experience; domain experience in industrial, factory automation, energy, or power infrastructure.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Fields of study specified: Electrical/Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering.
