Sr. Staff Hardware Engineer, System Level Test (Technical Lead)

Role Summary

Lead development of system-level test solutions for Qualcomm Snapdragon products. Serve as a technical lead on a cross-functional global team responsible for IC hardware testing, system engineering, test automation, and customer quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

The role combines technical leadership, project management, and hands-on delivery of system test platforms and processes.

  • Define and drive design of test hardware and interfaces with test board design and simulation teams.
  • Lead development and execution of production test platform roadmap and vendor coordination.
  • Plan and manage projects: scope, tasks, timelines, resourcing, budgets, and deliverables tracking.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to measure team and deliverable performance; report updates to management.
  • Participate in IC design reviews, IC hardware testing, software development, and system-level validation.
  • Drive customer quality improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration across geographies.
  • Act as both an individual contributor and a team lead when required to deliver quality results.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (senior-level) in SoC or electronics project management, system test, automation, or computer engineering (posting lists very senior experience expectations).
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams and drive development of test solutions and test requirements.

  • Strong background in semiconductor engineering, manufacturing processes, and wireless product test.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead teams across multiple geographies (GEOs).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective written/verbal communication.
  • Preferred: familiarity with test sequencers and Automated Test Equipment (ATE), ARM architecture, and Qualcomm chipsets.
  • Preferred: software development experience (C#, Java, C++, Perl, Python) and familiarity with SCM tools such as Perforce or Git.
