Job Title
Sr. Staff Engineer, Test Engineering
Role Summary
Develop and validate automated test programs and tester hardware for high-speed semiconductor products to ensure production meets specifications and yield targets.
Work with design, DFT/DFM, product engineering and manufacturing to make features testable, optimize test flow, and release production test programs.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical: 5–10 years of related experience; role expects significant ATE and high-speed digital testing experience (see Requirements for specific years).
Responsibilities
The role focuses on development, validation, and release of ATE-based test solutions for characterization, wafer sort and production.
- Develop test programs on Advantest 93K (EXAScale) and Teradyne UflexPlus platforms for characterization, wafer sort, and production.
- Design and validate tester hardware for high-speed testing.
- Create detailed test plans, test methodologies, and supporting documentation to meet product specifications.
- Convert design simulation patterns into ATE formats and integrate them into test flows.
- Participate in testability reviews with DFT/DFM teams to define and improve yield and test methodology.
- Lead test flow optimization, reduce test time, and drive release of production test programs with product engineers.
- Develop new testing strategies or code when existing equipment capabilities are insufficient.
- Collaborate with design, product, and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve test-related issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 6+ years of test program development experience on the Advantest 93K ATE platform.
- Demonstrable experience in ATE testing, test methodology, silicon process understanding, and DFT/DFM.
- 4+ years of high-speed digital testing experience.
- Proficiency with C/C++, Perl, Python, and working in a Linux environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Accountability and a sense of urgency to support production readiness and yield improvements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies Bachelor's +5–10 years of related experience or Master's +3–5 years. No certifications or explicit language about equivalent practical experience were listed.
