Sr. Staff Engineer — High-Speed Interface Pre-Silicon Validation/Verification
Role Summary
Lead emulation-based pre-silicon validation and verification for high-speed IP interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet). Serve as the technical owner who defines emulation IP requirements, validates implementations on emulation platforms, and ensures correct integration with Design IP across Controller and PHY domains.
Work within a global, cross-functional engineering team to improve emulation quality and accelerate time-to-market for IP products using platforms such as Zebu.
Experience Level
Senior — 8+ years of relevant experience in emulation, verification, or IP product development.
Responsibilities
You will provide technical leadership for emulation and IP verification and drive improvements to emulation IP and verification workflows.
- Bridge gaps between available/emulation IP features and Design IP verification across Controller and PHY domains.
- Define requirements for Emulation IP and validate correct implementation and deployment within verification strategies.
- Run and validate tests on emulation platforms; review and validate test plans for Emulation IP and Design IP.
- Report key metrics and lead continuous improvement in emulation IP quality and performance.
- Interpret standards changes, ECNs, and specification errata and incorporate impacts into verification plans.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to standardize methodologies and optimize verification workflows.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to build team capability and best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.
- 8+ years of experience in emulation, verification, or IP product development.
- Expert knowledge of PCIe, DDR, and Ethernet interfaces, including protocol and verification strategies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Zebu or similar emulation platforms for IP verification.
- Proven record leading IP product development initiatives with a focus on emulation-driven verification.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience driving consensus across distributed teams.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to present complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed, international environment and mentor junior staff.
