Sr. Staff Engineer - Design Formal Verification
Role Summary
Lead formal verification strategy and execution for complex CPU/Digital blocks such as instruction fetch, branch prediction, and execution pipelines. Drive formal test plans, proofs, and sign-off in collaboration with design and verification teams.

Senior - 10+ years of experience in formal verification of digital hardware design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Identify blocks suitable for formal verification and define scope.
- Create formal test plans with properties to implement and sign-off metrics.
- Implement and maintain formal verification environments (Chisel mentioned in source).
- Apply formal abstraction techniques to reduce complexity and prove DUT correctness.
- Debug RTL and analyze failure scenarios to root cause.
- Review formal setups and proofs with design and verification teams.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate verification tasks.
- Maintain and extend assertion/property libraries.
- Guide and train team members on effective use of formal verification tools and methodologies.
Requirements
Key requirements and qualifications:
- Must-have: 10+ years of experience in formal verification of digital hardware design.
- Extensive experience with formal abstraction techniques and formal sign-off processes.
- Familiarity with industry-standard formal verification tools (e.g., VC Formal, JasperGold).
- Knowledge of hardware description and verification languages (VHDL, Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Strong analytical reasoning, attention to detail, and effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Chisel for formal environments.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming.
- Interest or experience in processor design and digital systems.
- Right to work in India; employment contingent on successful background/reference checks and export-control authorization or the company's ability to obtain required licenses.
