Sr Staff Engineer, AI/ML Applications

Role Summary

Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered engineering applications and data platforms that speed semiconductor development, enable data-driven decisions, and reduce engineering cycle time. The role spans data engineering, backend services, AI/ML integration, and React-based front-end work to deliver production solutions such as engineering copilots, workflow automation, and analytics dashboards.

Experience Level

Senior - 10+ years of software engineering experience expected.

Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities include building scalable, production-grade AI applications and platforms for engineering use.

• Lead development of AI-powered engineering applications and platforms.
• Integrate LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and agent frameworks into production systems.
• Design and implement scalable data ingestion, ETL, transformation, and serving pipelines for engineering data.
• Build backend services, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems supporting AI agents, orchestration, and analytics.
• Develop modern web applications using React.js and TypeScript.
• Design data models linking requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, and sign-off into a unified engineering knowledge platform.
• Create dashboards, analytics, and workflow automation to improve engineering productivity and reduce cycle time.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and product teams to identify high-impact AI solutions.
• Drive technical direction, perform architecture reviews, and establish engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-team technology strategy.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

• Extensive experience developing AI-enabled applications using LLMs, RAG, vector stores, or agent-based architectures.
• Strong data engineering skills: ETL, data modeling, data quality, and large-scale data processing (experience with Azure Databricks preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and backend application development.
• Hands-on experience with React.js, TypeScript, HTML, and modern web tooling.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong software design, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and experience mentoring engineers.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with semiconductor design flows, EDA tools, physical design, verification, PPA analysis, or silicon development workflows.
• Experience with graph databases, knowledge graphs, or engineering knowledge-management systems.
• Experience with Docker, cloud-native platforms, and workflow orchestration frameworks.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electronics, AI/ML, or a related technical field (as listed in the original posting).
