Sr Staff CAD Engineer
Role Summary
Senior member of the global CAD team responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining RTL-to-GDS frontend and backend tools and flows for digital designs. The role owns parts of the CAD solution, supports worldwide customers, and improves design efficiency for mature-node technologies.
Experience Level
Senior β 10+ years of experience in EDA/CAD, including hands-on flow development and team leadership.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing CAD flows, supporting deployment, and coordinating with global stakeholders.
- Develop, debug and maintain frontend and backend RTL-to-GDS flows using industry EDA tools (Synopsys/Cadence).
- Automate flows and tasks using scripting (Tcl, Perl, Python) and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate and integrate EDA tools and methodologies to improve turnaround and design quality for mature nodes (e.g., 22nm, 12nm).
- Engage with internal customers worldwide: provide tool training, follow-ups, and deployment support.
- Propose and implement process and tool improvements to increase efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a small team; coordinate work across distributed, experienced teams.

- Expertise with Synopsys and/or Cadence RTL-to-GDS digital design flows (synthesis, implementation, STA).
- Strong scripting and automation skills: Tcl, Perl, Python.
- Hands-on experience with industry EDA tools for development and debugging of CAD flows.
- Strong communication, problem solving, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
- Experience coordinating across global teams and delivering customer-facing training/support.
- Nice-to-have: experience applying software development practices for AI/ML tool development and leading larger cross-functional initiatives.
Education Requirements
BTech or MTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. The role specifies 10+ years of experience in EDA/CAD.
