Job Title

Sr. Staff ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead ASIC verification for a next-generation family of processors used in generative AI inference acceleration. The role owns pre-silicon correctness across block, subsystem and full-chip verification and works closely with design and architecture teams to drive verification signoff.

Position sits on the ASIC verification team and includes technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on development of verification environments and methodologies.

Experience Level

Senior β€” senior-level engineering role. Posting requests 15+ years of ASIC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Own verification activities from architecture through tapeout and support post-silicon validation.

  • Ensure pre-silicon correctness and quality of a multi-million gate ASIC integrating accelerators and 3rd-party SoC IP.
  • Plan and lead block-level, subsystem and full-chip verification efforts and signoff.
  • Develop verification environments and tests using SystemVerilog/UVM and object-oriented methodologies.
  • Create comprehensive test and coverage strategies; drive coverage convergence and handle bug tracking.
  • Verify embedded CPUs (ARM/RISC-V), interconnect subsystems, and perform C/assembly diagnostic validation.
  • Debug functional and performance issues; triage regression failures.
  • Establish reusable verification frameworks and scale testbenches to subsystem and full-chip levels.
  • Mentor and technically guide verification engineers through test planning and closure.
  • Perform diagnostic and post-silicon validation tests in the lab.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience for successful execution of the role.

  • 15+ years of ASIC verification experience, including multiple chips through verification and post-silicon validation.
  • Expertise in SystemVerilog, UVM, constrained-random stimulus, and functional coverage.
  • Experience with C/C++ or SystemC for verification tasks.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles and coverage-driven verification.
  • Verification experience with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR/HBM, SerDes, etc.).
  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl, TCL, shell) is highly desirable.
  • Interest in AI architectures (convolution, transformer, and related workloads).
  • Self-starter able to operate in a fast-paced startup environment and provide technical leadership.

Education Requirements

B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (required); M.S. preferred. Fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.
