Sr Staff ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Senior technical role on an ASIC Digital Design verification team responsible for planning, executing, and driving verification activities to silicon sign-off. Acts as a technical leader and cross-functional coordinator for verification strategy across blocks or full-chip projects.
Experience Level
Senior - senior-level individual contributor (Sr/Staff). Typically a candidate with extensive ASIC/SoC verification experience and proven technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Work with design, architecture, and validation teams to deliver fully verified silicon. Typical responsibilities include:
- Define and own verification strategy and plans for assigned blocks or subsystems.
- Design, implement, and review verification environments and testbenches.
- Drive functional coverage, bug closure, and signoff criteria to completion.
- Mentor and technical-lead other verification engineers; conduct design and verification reviews.
- Coordinate cross-team verification, integration, and debug activities.
- Improve verification methodology, automation, and reuse across projects.
Requirements
Required skills and attributes for success (concise):
- Proven experience in ASIC/SoC functional verification and delivery at scale.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to drive verification to signoff.
- Strong RTL verification knowledge and experience with industry-standard methodologies.
- Effective debugging, problem solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience mentoring and reviewing work of other engineers.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with emulation, FPGA prototyping, formal verification, and verification automation.
