Sr Staff Application Engineer
Role Summary
Senior applications engineer responsible for development, validation, and qualification of DC–DC power converter products (VCORE controllers and SPS) for mobile end markets at the Taipei design center. The role supports product definition, silicon bring-up, characterization, and customer-facing documentation across the full product development cycle.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include development, validation, and customer support for power management ICs.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, R&D, Firmware, and Marketing to translate customer requirements into product features and roadmap feedback.
- Plan and execute product validation and characterization to demonstrate performance, robustness, and customer use-case compliance.
- Develop test plans, automate bench measurements, analyze data, and produce concise reports to support release decisions and customer communications.
- Create and review datasheets, application notes, user guides, design guidelines, and troubleshooting FAQs for technical accuracy and clarity.
- Support silicon bring-up and customer configuration (GUI/firmware/PMBus), including loop compensation guidance, sequencing, and telemetry setup.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience relevant to power-management IC applications engineering.
- Experience with multiphase controllers and/or SPS powering Intel/AMD/SoC systems.
- Solid understanding of DC/DC topologies, control loop theory, magnetics, and their application in power converters.
- Proficiency with lab equipment (network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators) and lab test automation.
- Proficiency with PCB CAD tools for schematic and layout.
- Strong lab-based problem solving and root-cause debug skills.
- Experience with SIMPLIS or similar switching-regulator circuit simulators.
- Mixed-signal IC/system knowledge and familiarity with power-management architectures for mobile and battery-powered devices (smartphones, tablets, PCs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements
Minimum experience-based education profiles specified: BS + 10 years, MS + 8 years, or PhD + 5 years in the power management industry (industry experience tied to degree level). No specific field restrictions listed beyond power-management industry experience.
