Job Title
Sr Staff Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify complex analog block-level and subsystem circuits for custom mixed-signal ASICs. Work within the Configurable Mixed-Signal Division to deliver competitive high-voltage analog and precision IP, drive silicon debug and characterization, and support test and production ramp.
Experience Level
Senior β requires extensive experience; the posting specifies 10+ years of analog and mixed-signal design experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for architecture, design, verification, and post-silicon validation of analog circuits and subsystems.
- Specify and design CMOS analog circuits to meet performance, area, power, and schedule constraints.
- Run analog/mixed-signal verification simulations at block and chip level and review AMS simulation results.
- Collaborate with project leads on system and design strategy for custom ASICs.
- Guide layout teams to ensure layout quality for designed circuits.
- Produce clear design documentation and participate in design reviews with a consulting role.
- Drive silicon debugging, characterization, and lab evaluation of own designs.
- Work with DFT, test, and product engineers to align strategies and support test development and production ramp.
- Schedule tasks, report progress to project leaders, and identify potential project risks.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors for the role; education details are listed separately below.
- Proven competence across analog design disciplines and experience proposing innovative solutions.
- Design experience in motor drivers (DC, stepper, BLDC) and power-management circuits, including exposure to high-voltage BCD processes.
- Experience with data-acquisition systems (ADC, DAC, current sensing) is a plus.
- Knowledge of analog modeling and AMS simulation techniques.
- Strong proficiency with EDA tools, particularly the Cadence design environment.
- Experience supporting lab characterization, silicon debug, and production test development.
- Effective written and verbal communication across multi-site, multi-cultural teams; ability to influence technical decisions.
- Ability to apply advanced methods to complex problems and work across discipline interfaces.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) plus approximately 10 years of experience in analog and mixed-signal design as stated in the posting.
