Sr SSPA Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical customer engagement for solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs) on the Defense & Aerospace High-Power RF Solutions team. Translate customer requirements into product and design inputs, support proposals and technical reviews, and influence product roadmap and product enhancements.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and the SSPA design team.
- Support customer inquiries on SSPA performance, integration, operation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate customer application requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Support proposal efforts, technical reviews, and customer presentations.
- Work closely with design engineers to ensure customer requirements are understood and implemented.
- Analyze RF performance data and communicate results to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain application notes, technical documentation, and product support materials.
- Gather customer feedback and market requirements to guide product roadmaps and enhancements.
- Support trade shows, customer visits, and design reviews as required.
Requirements
Must-have skills, experience, and constraints:
- 5+ years in RF/microwave engineering, RF power amplifiers, or applications engineering.
- Strong understanding of RF and microwave fundamentals: gain, power, efficiency, linearity, impedance matching.
- Hands-on experience with RF power amplifier systems; SSPA experience preferred.
- Experience supporting aerospace/defense, SATCOM, radar, electronic warfare, or communications applications.
- Familiarity with RF simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS, CST, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with RF test equipment: VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to customers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Must be a US Person; the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years' experience; MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 3+ years' experience; PhD in Electrical Engineering with an SSPA design focus.
