Senior Software Engineer — AI Operators

Role Summary

As a senior developer, you will design, implement, and optimize AI operator modules/kernels for custom ISA-based edge AI processors. You will work with hardware architects, compiler teams, and application developers to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of on-device AI/ML workloads.

Experience Level

Senior-level; minimum 3+ years of relevant kernel or low-level systems software development experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on design, implementation, optimization, debugging, and cross-functional integration of high-performance AI operators and kernels.

• Design and implement AI operator modules/kernels optimized for custom ISA-based edge AI processors.
• Translate operator mathematics into efficient hardware-aware implementations.
• Develop and optimize kernel-level code in C/C++ and assembly for performance and efficiency.
• Profile and debug performance bottlenecks using tools such as GDB and trace analyzers.
• Collaborate with hardware architects, compiler engineers, and application teams for integration.
• Maintain and extend operator implementations for current and future product releases.

Requirements

Key technical qualifications and experience required.

• Must-have: 3+ years of kernel or low-level systems development with production-quality code.
• Must-have: Strong system-level programming skills in C/C++; proficiency in assembly for specialized ISA implementations.
• Must-have: Deep understanding of OS internals, memory management, process scheduling, and performance tuning.
• Must-have: Experience with AI/ML operator development or compiler optimizations and exposure to hardware/software co-design.
• Must-have: Experience using kernel debugging and profiling tools (e.g., GDB, Gprof, trace analyzers).
• Nice-to-have: Experience optimizing software for high-performance or constrained edge computing environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; Ph.D. is a strong plus.
