Job Title

Sr. Silicon Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Member of AMD's networking silicon team responsible for verification of next-generation network processors and SmartNIC technologies. Focus on functional verification of packet-processing, control-plane, and system-level features using automation, data-driven methods, and AI-assisted tools.

Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to define verification plans, improve verification productivity, accelerate debug, and support high-quality silicon delivery.

Responsibilities

Deliver verification plans, tests, and automation to validate complex hardware/firmware/software interactions for networking silicon.

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware teams to define verification requirements.
  • Produce comprehensive verification plans covering hardware, firmware, software, and system-level use cases.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random tests, UVM environments, and verification infrastructure.
  • Estimate verification effort and recommend enhancements to environments and methodologies.
  • Debug test failures, determine root causes, and work with RTL/firmware engineers to resolve defects.
  • Drive functional and code coverage closure through targeted test development and analysis.
  • Apply simulation, emulation, and data-driven analytics to accelerate silicon quality and release readiness.
  • Develop automation solutions and use AI-assisted workflows to improve verification efficiency and debug productivity.
  • Continuously improve verification processes via scripting, automation, and emerging AI technologies.

Requirements

Core technical skills required; additional experience desirable.

Must-have:

  • Proven IP-level ASIC verification experience.
  • Strong experience with UVM testbenches and SystemVerilog.
  • Proficient at debugging RTL and firmware using industry-standard simulation tools.
  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog, C, and C++.
  • Experience developing UVM-based verification frameworks and reusable components.
  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Shell, Makefiles, or similar) to build automation and tooling.
  • Experience with simulation and emulation platforms and coverage analysis.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with data analytics, workflow automation, and AI-enabled engineering practices.
  • Experience applying AI/ML-assisted tools to verification, debug, or coverage closure.
  • Understanding of SystemC and TLM.
  • Exposure to networking, packet processing, Ethernet, SmartNICs, or networking processor architectures.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
