Job Title
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Product Quality Engineer leads ongoing reliability testing (ORT) programs and drives long-term product quality and reliability across design, manufacturing, and field deployment. The role coordinates with design, test, manufacturing, reliability and failure-analysis teams and customer/supplier quality to prevent defects, identify reliability risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor quality, reliability testing, failure analysis, or related roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on establishing and executing ORT and qualification programs, assessing reliability risks, and delivering data-driven recommendations for product release and improvement.
- Lead and optimize Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT): sample selection, test setup, acceleration models, and data analysis.
- Define, implement, and improve ORT plans and stress tests tailored to product applications and use conditions.
- Attend design, transfer, and qualification milestones to address long-term reliability requirements.
- Perform and review product qualifications (new products, second source, material/design/process changes) and integrate results with ORT.
- Ensure compliance with internal specs, customer requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, IEC, JEDEC, AEC).
- Communicate ORT plans, results, and reliability assessments to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Lead risk assessments (DFMEA, PFMEA), ensure mitigations are implemented and validated via ORT monitoring.
- Lead failure analysis for ORT and qualification failures; drive root-cause identification and corrective actions.
- Produce clear qualification and ORT reports with risk assessments and recommendations for production release or change management.
- Implement reliability enhancement measures with cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for performing the role effectively.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in semiconductor quality, reliability testing, or related engineering roles.
- Deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes (wafer fab, assembly, test) and their reliability impacts.
- Extensive experience with ORT, reliability monitoring, statistical analysis, and acceleration/qualification methodologies.
- Proven experience with failure analysis workflows and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis, Weibull analysis).
- Expert familiarity with industry quality and reliability standards and qualification methods (JEDEC, AEC, IPC, etc.).
- Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Available for international travel at short notice and comfortable working across multicultural teams.
- Nice to have: prior experience with reliability labs, FA lab tools, or customer-facing reliability programs.
