Sr. Principal Verification Engineer, Digital IP

Role Summary

Lead pre-silicon verification efforts for digital IP and IP subsystems within the MCU/MPU Engineering organization. The role defines verification strategy and plans, develops UVM-based environments and tests, and coordinates verification activities with hardware, firmware, software, architecture, and system teams for SoC products across automotive, IoT, networking and RF domains.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of experience in IP/subsystem verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities, creating verification environments and test cases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Define and write IP verification plans from requirements, architecture and implementation specs.
• Architect, develop, debug and run UVM-based verification environments for RTL simulation.
• Create stimulus, assertions and test cases; run simulation, regressions and analyze functional and code coverage.
• Verify designs across RTL, power-aware RTL, gate-level, FPGA and emulation platforms.
• Interface with HW, FW, SW, architecture and system engineering teams to clarify functionality and application of IP/subsystems.
• Drive verification execution according to product specifications and verification requirements; collect and report verification metrics.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; preferred items noted.

• 7+ years of experience in IP/subsystem verification.
• Proven experience in testbench design and development using UVM for IP/subsystem and SoC verification.
• Strong knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog; working knowledge of C/C++ and Shell.
• High proficiency in metric-driven verification concepts, functional and code coverage.
• Experience with directed and constrained-random methodologies; familiarity with assertions and formal techniques.
• Experience debugging designs pre- and post-silicon in simulation and on hardware.
• Scripting and automation skills (Perl, TCL or Python) are a plus.
• Prior experience as a technical lead or DV manager is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (as specified in the posting). The posting also specifies 7+ years of relevant IP/subsystem verification experience.
