Job Title

Sr. Principal Test Engineer

Role Summary

Lead test engineering for Marvell analog and SiPho products across NPI, qualification, characterization and high-volume manufacturing. Own test solutions including software, ATE/bench instrumentation, test fixtures, probe hardware and sockets, and coordinate with Design, Product Engineering, Operations and global OSAT partners.

Role includes driving test-time reduction, yield improvement, automation and reliable manufacturing test processes. This role may require eligibility to access export-controlled technology.

Experience Level

Senior - typically 10+ years experience in RF/Mixed-Signal/SiPho IC test engineering, including NPI and volume production support.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leading test development, automation, and manufacturing support.

  • Lead test development through all NPI phases: silicon bring-up, product sampling, qualification, characterization and transfer to OSATs for volume manufacturing.
  • Design and own test solutions: tester software, tester equipment, PXI/ATE integration, PCBs, mechanical fixturing, probe hardware and sockets.
  • Drive test-time reduction, yield improvement and increased test coverage in partnership with Product and Design engineering.
  • Implement robust, automated test processes and ensure test station availability to meet production schedules.
  • Provide timely engineering support for customer returns and work with Quality engineering; manage subcontractor/OSAT test development globally.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of RF/Mixed-Signal/SiPho IC test engineering experience focused on hardware and software test development, yield improvement and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Proven experience with semiconductor test automation using bench instruments (GPIB/Ethernet), PXI instrumentation, or standard ATE testers (Advantest, Teradyne).
  • Programming and automation skills in one or more of: Python, C, CVI, LabVIEW.
  • Strong familiarity with RF/microwave test bench equipment such as network analyzers, sampling oscilloscopes, power supplies and power meters.
  • Experience driving test station availability and working with Operations/Planning to meet delivery commitments; experience managing OSAT partners.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on wafer sort and handler experience for analog devices (up to 67 GHz), understanding of TIA/Driver characterization, de-embedding techniques, and experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and 2D/3D CAD for test-fixture design review.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master of Science or Bachelor of Science in EE or related). The posting specifies degree in EE or related field and a proven track record of test development for high-speed RF products that have moved into volume production.
