Sr. Principal Technical Program Manager – Digital IP Development
Role Summary
ACE Digital IP develops reusable digital IP and subsystems for NXP's automotive, IoT, networking, and RF product portfolios.
The Sr. Principal Technical Program Manager leads Digital IP development programs from planning through IP release and SoC integration readiness, coordinating cross-functional teams and driving schedule, risk, and release decisions across multiple product lines.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 12+ years of experience in Digital IP, SoC development, or technical program management.
Responsibilities
Deliver and track end-to-end program execution for Digital IP and subsystem development.
- Lead programs from planning through IP release and SoC integration readiness.
- Develop and maintain integrated program plans: scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, deliverables, and release criteria.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across architecture, design, verification, validation, software, and SoC integration teams.
- Align stakeholders on IP specifications, interfaces, integration dependencies, release content, and handoff requirements.
- Support portfolio planning, resource prioritization, and provide execution visibility across multiple programs.
- Drive risk management, issue resolution, decision closure, and timely escalation.
- Lead technical reviews, program checkpoints, and leadership reporting; communicate status, risks, actions, and key decisions.
- Build and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to monitor execution health, resource demand, and release readiness.
Requirements
Must-have technical program management skills and domain knowledge for Digital IP development.
- Strong understanding of Digital IP development flows: architecture, RTL design, verification, integration, release management, and signoff.
- Proven experience managing complex engineering programs: schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, deliverables, and execution tracking.
- Hands-on experience building dashboards and analytical reporting using Power BI, Excel, SQL, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Ability to analyze program execution, schedule performance, resource utilization, risk trends, and release readiness to inform decisions.
- Experience translating engineering and project data into concise executive-level insights, recommendations, and action plans.
Nice-to-have:
- Portfolio planning, resource forecasting, and capacity management experience.
- Knowledge of AMBA/AHB/AXI protocols, memory subsystems, ROM/RAM/Flash, LPDDR/DDR, and memory controllers.
- Familiarity with RTL design, micro-architecture, verification, timing analysis, DFT, implementation, CDC/RDC, lint, synthesis, and signoff flows.
- Experience supporting automotive, industrial, safety, security, or other high-reliability semiconductor programs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred. The posting specifies 12+ years of relevant Digital IP, SoC development, or technical program management experience.
