Sr Principal Product Engineer - Verification

Role Summary

Technical leader responsible for driving customer evaluations, benchmarks, training, and technical engagements for Cadence Verification Division products. Works closely with Sales, corporate engineering, and product teams to scope opportunities and influence product direction based on customer requirements.

Role focuses on verification, emulation/acceleration, and field-facing technical support for complex SoC projects.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical activities, evaluations, and knowledge transfer.

• Collaborate with Sales to identify and scope customer opportunities for verification products.
• Plan, execute, and manage technical evaluations and benchmarks with customers.
• Train and support customer teams; conduct advanced trainings, presentations, and demos.
• Accompany and ramp-up customer projects; provide hands‑on technical expertise for complex issues.
• Align with corporate engineering and sales/marketing on customer requirements and product improvements.

• Must-have: Extensive verification/prototyping experience (13+ years) with EDA solutions and consumer application design/debugging.
• Practical experience with SoC emulation/acceleration and hybrid verification solutions.
• Strong knowledge of UVM, Verification IPs, and use of transactors.
• Familiarity with simulators such as IES or VCS and experience with emulators/accelerators (examples: PXP, Zebu, Veloce).
• Proficient with Linux and Tcl scripting.
• Program and engagement management skills to run evaluations and customer projects.
• Effective team player with strong English communication skills and ability to work globally with customers and business units.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally; current passport with no travel limitations required.
• Nice-to-have: Deep hands-on experience tuning emulation/acceleration flows and advanced debugging of consumer SoC designs.
