Sr. Principal Product Engineer
Role Summary
Product Engineer on the Digital and Signoff Group (DSG) supporting Cadence digital implementation and signoff products. The role provides product-level place-and-route and timing expertise to customers and to R&D, focusing on RTL-to-GDSII flows and PPA optimization for advanced process nodes.
Primary mission: debug customer issues, develop benchmarks and flows, and work with R&D and release teams to drive solutions for timing closure and signoff challenges.

Responsibilities
Accountabilities include product support, customer problem resolution, and development of flows and benchmarks.
- Support Cadence digital and signoff products in production and customer environments.
- Track, analyze, and debug customer issues; coordinate with R&D and release teams for resolution.
- Run design benchmarks and develop reproducible flows and solutions for timing closure and PPA.
- Propose and validate fixes or workarounds; document findings and communicate results to customers and internal teams.
- Contribute to automation and reproducibility of flows used for evaluation and customer support.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- Deep understanding of ASIC design methodologies and the RTL-to-GDSII flow, including timing closure and PPA optimization at 16nm and below.
- Strong knowledge of VLSI physical design and timing analysis; familiarity with clock tree synthesis, routing optimization, and silicon signoff.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools for synthesis, physical design, and signoff at advanced nodes.
- Familiarity with hierarchical design methodologies and low-power design techniques.
- Automation skills using Perl, Tcl, and shell scripting to build and maintain flows.
- Proven analytical problem-solving skills with a track record of debugging complex design issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering (EE) with 2+ years of experience in Digital Implementation as a design engineer or a product engineer (as stated in the posting).
