Product Quality Engineer, MTIA
Role Summary
Technical owner for manufacturing and test requirements of Advanced Compute, Accelerator and GPU platforms. Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype to high-volume mass production by defining standards, ensuring line readiness, and coordinating cross-functional and external manufacturing partners to meet quality, yield, and production metrics.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing and test for compute, storage, or network hardware.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement product quality strategy and manufacturing/test processes for next-generation AI hardware systems.
- Specify test methods and standards; drive continuous improvement with manufacturing partners and suppliers to meet product and process quality targets.
- Lead cross-functional troubleshooting at rack and system level; own the Major Issue List and execute failure analysis and corrective actions (FACA).
- Engage early with engineering teams to implement DFx requirements and ensure products meet cycle-time, cost, quality, and yield targets.
- Advance test coverage, methodologies, and infrastructure to improve reliability, performance, and scalability through the product lifecycle.
- Conduct First Article and Source Inspections for hardware components and assemblies.
- Create and manage BOMs, engineering change notifications, and manufacturing process changes via PLM tools.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing and test for Compute, Storage, or Network Hardware products.
- Deep technical understanding of hardware architecture; experience defining requirements, testing, and validating high-performance compute and GPU systems.
- Experience partnering with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to deliver data-center server accelerator products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing test solutions and new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of quality methodologies and tools; experience performing failure analysis and corrective actions.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Scripting skills (Bash, Perl, or Python).
- Experience working on AI hardware.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
