Job Title

Sr Manager, Product & Test Engineering - Power Modules

Role Summary

Lead product and test engineering for advanced power module product lines (Si, SiC, GaN), owning NPI through high-volume manufacturing and sustaining. Act as the senior technical authority bridging R&D, reliability, manufacturing, product marketing, and customers.

The role includes strategic technical direction, qualification and reliability oversight, test and ATE strategy, and managing a team of product & test engineers with regular international travel to manufacturing and customer sites (approx. 15–25%).

Experience Level

Senior - 10+ years in semiconductor product, manufacturing, or test engineering and 5+ years in leadership managing engineers or cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities

Accountable for product readiness, test strategy, manufacturing release, and customer technical engagement across power module product lines.

  • Own end-to-end product engineering from NPI through HVM and sustaining; define specs, test limits, and guard-bands.
  • Develop and execute module test strategy (wafer sort, module final test, system validation) and ATE direction.
  • Drive advanced test methodologies: adaptive testing, multi-site optimization, outlier screening, and test-time reduction.
  • Lead manufacturing release, qualification execution, PCNs, and design-for-manufacturability/test efforts.
  • Establish qualification and reliability plans (HTRB, HTGB, Temp Cycling, Power Cycling, HALT/HASS, life testing, etc.) aligned to IPC-9592 standards.
  • Manage relationships with CMs, OSAT partners, and test equipment vendors; ensure production ramp readiness and capacity alignment.
  • Serve as senior technical interface for customers; lead escalations, program reviews, and performance/status reporting.
  • Build and develop the product & test engineering team, set standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience, leadership capabilities, and tools familiarity to execute product, test, and manufacturing programs for power modules.

  • 10+ years in semiconductor product, manufacturing, or test engineering with end-to-end NPI-to-production ownership.
  • 5+ years managing engineers or cross-functional technical teams; proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep technical expertise in power semiconductor products and advanced module design, assembly, and manufacturing (IGBT, MOSFET, SiC, GaN).
  • Experience in qualification, reliability testing, failure analysis, and assembly/packaging development; familiarity with IPC-9592 requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of ATE platforms and test program architecture sufficient to provide technical direction (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest); test hardware design familiarity.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (JMP, Minitab, Python, Excel) and reliability statistical methods (Weibull, DOE, FMEA).
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing transfers, CM/OSAT collaboration, and production test data infrastructure (STDF, yield analytics, SPC).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to lead cross-functional and customer-facing technical programs.
  • Preferred: experience with AI/datacenter power programs, hyperscaler customers, Six Sigma certification, and building teams in Asia-Pacific.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related engineering field. Master’s degree strongly preferred in a relevant engineering discipline. Mechanical Engineering is listed as a plus. Six Sigma or equivalent quality certification is a preferred qualification.
