Sr. Manager – Power Module Quality Engineering
Role Summary
Lead and grow a team of product quality engineers responsible for quality strategy, qualification, and release of Power Module products (SiC, GaN, IGBT) across development and manufacturing. Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, test, and applications teams to define and enforce quality, qualification, and compliance for industrial and automotive products.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 7 years' relevant experience in power module technology or related semiconductor quality roles.
Responsibilities
Accountable for product quality and qualification activities for power modules through development, release and post-release support.
- Define and drive qualification plans and execution for SiC, GaN and IGBT power modules.
- Manage customer requirements, documentation and complaint handling; produce customer-facing quality reports and presentations.
- Establish quality requirements to ensure reliable, manufacturable designs and correlate failure mechanisms to reliability measures.
- Lead failure analysis, early identification and characterization of failure modes; use simulation and analytics to link failures to performance and lifetime.
- Define and qualify manufacturing process controls and support process qualification.
- Promote and implement quality procedures and standards (company, JEDEC, AEC-Q, AQG 324 and customer-specific) in projects.
- Coordinate reliability testing with external partners and manage test programs.
- Represent Quality Management for Power Modules across development, marketing and operations; act as the voice of the customer internally.
- Identify quality gaps in product creation processes and drive corrective actions.
Requirements
Must-have technical background, leadership, and interpersonal skills for a quality management role in power modules.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in power module technology, assembly processes, or related semiconductor quality roles.
- Experience with SiC and GaN device behavior and power module technologies; semiconductor physics knowledge.
- Proven experience managing and developing a team (group manager experience with direct reports).
- Familiarity with measurement methods, device testing environments and failure analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of international quality standards and policies (examples given: AEC-Q101, AQG 324).
- Practical problem-solving skills and experience with standard software tools (e.g., Office).
- Strong written and verbal English; effective presentation and customer/executive communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle conflicts, influence stakeholders and build trusted networks across functions.
- Willingness to travel in the EU (typically <15%; up to <30% if assigned to Catania).
Education Requirements
PhD or Master's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
