Sr Manager / Deputy Director - IP Engineering

Role Summary

Lead development of high-performance compute processor IP products for GlobalFoundries' IP Engineering team in Hsinchu. Provide technical leadership across product development, customer engagements, and cross-site execution to ensure delivery of high-quality IP solutions.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end delivery and technical leadership of large-scale IP projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive execution and delivery of complex IP development projects with full or shared ownership.
  • Define technical strategy, review architectures and specifications, and ensure design signoff and product quality.
  • Provide technical guidance on architecture, microarchitecture, RTL design, verification, and signoff flows.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams; plan resources and succession.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams on roadmaps, planning, and customer engagements.
  • Improve engineering methodologies, processes, and automation to strengthen capabilities and delivery predictability.
  • Manage program execution, risk, and stakeholder communication to meet schedule and quality targets.

Requirements

  • Must-have: 15+ years of experience in digital front-end design, RTL implementation, verification, validation, or computational IP development with significant technical leadership responsibility.
  • Must-have: Proven track record leading large-scale IP or SoC projects with accountability for delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Must-have: Hands-on expertise in RTL design and micro-architecture, verification, formal methods, and functional coverage.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with SystemVerilog/Verilog, UVM, C/C++, Python and other scripting languages (Perl or similar).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tool flows: simulation, synthesis, lint, formal, coverage, and automation tooling.
  • Must-have: Strong program execution skills including resource planning, risk management, and delivery management.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across organizations.
  • Must-have: Experience working with distributed, multi-site engineering teams.
  • Preferred: Experience driving engineering methodologies, quality improvements, and organizational effectiveness; prior leadership of distributed teams is highly desirable.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (explicitly stated).
