Sr. Manager, ASIC Verification - Interface IP (PCIe/CXL)
Role Summary
Lead alignment between Verification IP (VIP) capabilities and Design IP verification needs for PCIe and CXL interface IP. Own requirements definition, testplan quality, VIP deployment metrics, and hands-on validation within UVM-based environments. Work cross-functionally across geographies with engineering, product, and verification teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level — 15+ years of hands-on digital verification experience, with significant PCI Express or high-speed serial protocol expertise.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Align VIP capabilities with Design IP verification needs; identify feature coverage gaps for controller and PHY.
- Define VIP requirements based on real Design IP verification use cases and maintain requirements traceability.
- Track PCIe specification updates, ECNs, and errata and translate changes into actionable requirements for VIP and Design IP teams.
- Review and critique testplans to improve coverage, rigor, and traceability across projects.
- Report VIP deployment metrics and drive continuous improvement in VIP integration into verification flows.
- Work hands-on with UVM-based verification environments to validate VIP usage and demonstrate best practices.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- Must-have: 15+ years in digital verification with extensive PCIe or high-speed serial protocol experience.
- Must-have: Deep subject-matter expertise in PCIe Link Layer and PHY, including specification details and errata.
- Must-have: Strong UVM knowledge and experience in UVM-based verification environments.
- Must-have: Experience in IP product development or deploying VIP to verify complex Design IP and delivering results in matrixed, multi-geography organizations.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with CXL or other coherent interconnect protocols.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience building Verification IP or leading verification strategy for IP products.
